Connection between our thinking and the atmosphere we live in..

Image
Have you ever wondered WHY we all behave in a particular way in a particular space ? Or.. WHY do we feel nervous in an interview? Or may be.. WHY do we feel happy while traveling to some hill station ? WHY do we feel relaxed in the spa room ? WHY do we feel stressed at job ? etc.  When I was at my mother's house, in the middle of something, a question like this clicked my mind. WHY do I feel so composed and cool headed at my mother's place? When I thought a little more about it, I got the answer. It's the atmosphere we live in that influences our feelings, our emotions, our thoughts and ultimately our actions. My parents are very harmonious people and quite happy with their lives. They believe in encouraging us by guiding towards the right direction without being critical or making any sarcastic remark. They enjoy the little things in life like watching movies, eating together, meeting relatives, and taking care of each other by just being there for each other. They love t...

When we were in the Wonderland - NEW ZEALAND

Image
If you want to experience the truly natural and untouched beauty of the world then New Zealand should be on the top your list. I must say that it is one of the greenest and purest country I have ever visited.  The freshness of the air and the clean roads with mesmerizing views of mountains, farms and lakes completely absorb you in the nature.  Our itinerary went like: Christchurch > Franz Josef > Queenstown > Rotorua > Auckland New Zealand was my honeymoon trip. As we were newly married, it was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend some great time with each other in the country far away. This blog is the description of my best moments and the best things about New Zealand as a whole. Christchurch is a beautiful small city with a number of gardens, churches, market, bars etc. What was quite surprising about the town was that after sunset (which is around 8 p.m.) it becomes very quiet there. When we headed for dinner, there were very few people out in the t...

KINDNESS- BASIS TO A POSITIVE LIFE

Image
When somebody is nice to us and treats us well, we feel good and respond in the same manner. The whole feeling towards the instance becomes joyous and positive. On the other hand, when somebody doesn't treat us well or becomes rude, we distant ourselves from them. The whole feeling becomes weird and quite negative. Therefore, you can see what effect kindness have on us.  We all expect others to be nice to us, respect us, and sometimes agree with us but what we forget is that the others expect the same from us. We want the universe to work in our favor but contribute very less in making it do so. Remember, the universe will bring you what you bring to the universe. It is important for us to be kind and generous to receive the same amount of kindness and generosity from others. Some people argue "when we are kind to others we are often took advantage of. People think that we are weak and thus it is important to remain hard." Also, some people argue "even if we are k...

Atlantis, The Palm- A luxury stay to remember

Image
Atlantis, the palm I planned a trip to Dubai with my family a few years back. During our trip we booked a two night stay in the most famous and luxury resort in Dubai- Atlantis . It is located at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah. The palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago Island given a shape of a palm tree with a crescent shaped water barrier. The resort consists of more than 1500 rooms. Attached to it is the world's renowned Aquaventure water park and the lost chambers aquarium. On the way to our resort we witnessed the chain of villas with the similar architecture. One could easily say that those were the homes to some of the riches. After arriving to Atlantis, we found that there were a large number of tourists visiting and the place was quite crowded. The reception was quite magnificent and beautifully designed. There were different ways to the water park, aquarium, swimming pool, gaming zone, and the rooms from the reception. The resort is build on such a wid...

Sins that lower our happiness in day to day life

Image
Today all of us are running to achieve something in our lives. On the way to achieve our goals we sacrifice our happiness and give it the least priority. We are bound to think that life is difficult and one has to struggle through the journey of life but the fact is, life is easy if you take it simply and not complicate it for yourself. In this article, I will be sharing some of the sins that we all commit which directly or indirectly lowers our happiness and also discuss about the habits one should adopt to increase their levels of long-term happiness. SIN 1: Devaluating happiness When you do not give happiness much importance knowingly or unknowingly and sacrifice it for the sake of other things then over some time you start living a stressful life and surround yourself with the negative thoughts only. For example, in a relationship, if there is any argument, we often try to prove ourselves right which leads to further arguments and lowering our happiness. In s...

Being Married in the Indian Culture

Image
In India, Marriage is not only a union of a boy and a girl but the union of two families. Arrange marriage is the widely accepted way of marriage here. The families try to find the best match for their sons or daughters. If they come to know about the potential partner for their son/daughter, they first show their Kundlis (Birth chart in Vedic astrology) to their respective pandit (hindu priests), when the kundlis match only then the boy and the girl can marry. Also, they both should be from the same caste . The Societal status of the families should be equivalent. These are just some of the rules for the arrange marriage. The boy and girl get some time of like two to three months to know each others likes, dislikes, preferences, etc. so that they can get along well before marriage. The Indian wedding is a grandeur event organised together by both the families . A lot of money is devoted in the preparations like dresses, jewelry, decorations, music and dance events, ...
